ABOUT LAUREL HILL CEMETERY
Laurel Hill is a non-affiliated local cemetery governed by an elected Board of Trustees. Although chartered in 1890, it has been a final resting place for over 1500 loved ones since the early 19th century. There are nearly 200 military veterans, including 55 who served in the Civil War, interred in the cemetery. While there are several gravestones in the older sections that are either hard to read or entirely eroded, we are constantly researching local historical records to identify more of those interred here. We greatly appreciate our volunteers who turn out for a work day each spring and throughout the summer to help keep our cemetery looking as peaceful as it can be.
